Dear Partners
Cyclone Alfred is currently off the south coast of Queensland and weather conditions on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, where Bond University is located, are expected to worsen over the next 24 hours, with high winds and heavy rainfall.
The safety of Bond students is our top priority. The Bond University campus will close at noon today (Wednesday 5 March) and will remain closed for the next two days. Faculties will inform students of the alternative arrangements for classes scheduled and monitor the iLearn sites for updates. Students living on campus will remain and will be supported by University staff.
The University has established a Cyclone Alfred information website, which contains a list of FAQs and further information -
>https://bond.edu.au/cyclone-alfred-updates-for-bond-community. The University will continue to monitor weather conditions and communicate with current students. Security and support services will continue to operate around the clock.
The Bond University Crisis Line (BUCL) for Bond students can be accessed 24 hours, 7 days on 1300 359 504 (Call) or 0485829136 (Text). If you are contacted by students or parents, please direct them to Bond’s Cyclone Alfred website (above). This page will be regularly updated with information and guidance.
The Office of Future Students will continue to work remotely and will be contactable via email, however our response times may be impacted depending on the weather conditions.
