Dear Partner,

You may have seen media regarding Tropical Cyclone Alfred and its movement towards the coast of South East Queensland and I am writing to update you regarding Griffith University’s response.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast severe weather, including heavy rain, strong winds and possible flash flooding in Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast over the coming days.

At Griffith University, the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our top priority and the University has made the decision to close all campuses from Wednesday 5 March to Sunday 9 March 2025. Teaching activities will move to online learning for this period.

Students are being advised of the campus closures via email and myGriffith today and were provided with safety advice that includes preparation tips and key resources earlier this week.
