英-基尔大学- Keele alumna becomes the first female President of Namibia

Greetings from Keele University. We hope this newsletter finds you well and your 2025 has been gone well. 

In December, Keele alumna Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah became the first female President of Namibia. Aged 72, Netumbo graduated from Keele in 1989 with a Masters degree in diplomatic studies.

Netumbo left Namibia in 1974 in exile to campaign for the country's independence before returning to Namibia shortly after graduating from Keele. Following Namibia's independence in 1990, she was appointed the country’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Having served in high-level government office in the country for a quarter of a century, she now proudly becomes Keele's first graduate to become a Head of State.

For students who are interested in pursuing career in international stage, we are excited to announce that our newly redesigned MA Politics and International Relations will be available for September 2025.

This cutting-edge programme blends rigorous academic insight with real-world relevance, empowering students to think critically, act decisively, and make a difference on the global stage.

Keele University is currently ranked top 10 in the UK for international relations in the Guardian University Guide 2024. Despite this, our tuition fee will be just £16,600 with £3,000-5,000 scholarship available. This means that a student with equivalent of UK first class degree would pay just £11,600 for the course after scholarship.
