It's made up of several parts which included sessions on academic skills, our libraries, joining societies and social activities, and sessions on all the support available during their journey with us.All in all, everything to get our students set up and settled into Kingston.Student Route Visa is going DigitalAs UKVI are moving towards a digital immigration system, physical documents (e.g. BRP, BRC, vignette stickers) are being replaced by an online record called eVisa, which will make travelling to the UK safer, quicker and easier.What students need to doIf they do not already have a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account, they will be asked to:create a UKVI accountconfirm their identity using the 'UK Immigration ID Check' appThis information will be used to link the student's visa to their UKVI account. They will get an email to let them know when they can access their eVisa in your account.More information for students is available on our website.Flywire is our new Payment Portal for International StudentsWe wish to remind you once again that the University does not accept bank transfers. Entry Requirements and Applications Processing TimesWe are excited to announce that we've made significant changes to our entry requirements and admissions processes, with the aim to improve your and the students experience when applying to Kingston University.Such changes have already had a positive impact on our application processing times, with reduced turnaround times across all areas, thus making our courses more accessible to a broader range of students.Please check our website or reach out to our dedicated international recruitment team if you have any questions.Online Pre-sessional Courses Our Pre-sessional courses are designed for international students who want to improve their English language skills and familiarise themselves with studying at university before starting studies at Kingston or another university.There are four lengths of Pre-sessional English courses. Your International English Language Test score (IELTS) will determine which length you should apply for. All Summer 2024 pre-sessional courses will be online. These are currently being updated on the country-specific pages of our website. The update will be complete by the new year, so please keep checking the website for the latest information or contact your person of contact in the team. You can read more here.Online Pre-sessional CoursesInternational Students can improve their English language skills by enrolling in our online pre-sessional English language courses.In this way, they can meet the English language entry requirements for their chosen university degree.We offer courses with different durations, starting in March 2024.Kingston Post Office is ClosedPlease note that Kingston Post Office is temporarily closed.All Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) have been sent to the nearest post office branch in New Malden; students need to collect their BRPs from here.The address is: 150 High Street, New Malden, KT3 4ER.More information about BRP collection.Indian Class XII English now acceptedKingston now accepts the Indian Class XII English as evidence of sufficient English proficiency.We accept Class XII English from the central education boards CBSE and ISC under the CISCE (Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations), along with the Maharashtra state board HSC also called HSSC.Students will be required to achieve 70% or higher in their Class XII English to meet requirements.Information on Entry Requirements for India.Subsidised Taxi Pick-up ServiceOur subsidised taxi service will be available for students joining us in January 2024. Whether they would like to be picked up from Heathrow and Gatwick airports or St Pancras International train station to go to their on-campus or private accommodation, our discounted taxi pick-up service will safely take them anywhere within a 5-mile radius of Kingston for a standard rate of £20 or £30 per person.Find out how to book your taxi.Please note this service is available between 2 to 15 January 2024 only.Christmas Break ClosuresThe University will be closed over the Christmas period from Friday 22 December 2023 until Tuesday 2 January 2024. We received 688 completed applications, with the most applications received from India, Nigeria, USA, Pakistan and China. The January 2017 international scholarship application will be open for applications through our website in September 2016. The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing is offering a fantastic 35% reduction of tuition fees which will be awarded to home/EU/international students who meet the following criteria: have been awarded a first-class honours degree from a university in the UK (excluding overseas campuses) after January 2014; and have enrolled full time on a Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing MSc or MA course in September 2016 or January 2017. International Arrivals and Orientation We will be greeting our new international arrivals very soon! Our free airport pick-up service will be running on Wednesday 14 September and our International Orientation day will be held on Thursday 15 September.
