UC's Tupuārangi Project

UC celebrated a new phase in the Tupuārangi project, which will welcome its first 283 first-year students in 2026. Construction began in 2024, and the current phase involves the building’s façade.

This project supports UC’s growth, student success, and long-term economic sustainability, increasing accommodation capacity to 3,081 rooms. Read more

UCIC Pre-Foundation Program

UC International College is offering the Pre-Foundation Program in collaboration with three local Christchurch public schools: Kaiapoi High School, Christchurch Girls' High School, and Christchurch Boys' High School. Following the 1.5-year NCEA program at one of the high schools, students can enrol in an 8-month foundation course at UCIC. Successful completion of the foundation course leads to a UC Bachelor's degree. For more details, please contact UCIC.

Accelerated Pathway to BE(Hons)

UC is offering an accelerated pathway for high achieving international students (living outside of New Zealand) who are pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours. Students with a strong academic background in STEM subjects can gain their BE(Hons) in as little as 3.25 years – versus the standard 4 years, resulting in reduced fees and less time away from home. Dean's Award - Master of Applied Data Science (MADS) is designed to support high-achieving MADS students enrolling to start their study in Semester 2, 2025. Applicants are automatically considered during the admission evaluation process. Apply to enrol now or contact Future Students Office for more information.

High Achievers Scholarships for India, China, and Southeast Asia

We are currently accepting applications for Semester 2 2025 start and application will close on 30 April. Applicants will have two weeks to accept the scholarship offer if selected. Download updated flyers for India, China, and SEA or contact the UC Scholarships Office for any questions.

UC Business School Awards confirmed for 2026 and still being processed for S2 2025:

• $6,000 for master’s programmes
• $4,000 for the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce (up to $12,000 overall)

Almost 65% of new international students starting a business degree in S1 2025 received an award. They are applied as a tuition fee reduction and can be held alongside the UC High Achievers Scholarships. Eligibility is automatically assessed, with no need to submit a separate application. For more info, visit the UC Business School website.

Applications for MHealSc (Nursing) 2026

Due to a large number of applications and a limited number of clinical placements, applications will close early on 1 August 2025. Applicants serious about studying this programme should complete their application with all required documents including an up-to-date English language assessment before the application deadline. Please note that applicants need to supply evidence of IELTS (Academic) 7 with no individual score below 7 or an alternative English language assessment, approved by Executive Dean of Health.

Halls of Residence applications close on 1 May 2025 for Semester 2 start. For S1 2026 start, online applications open on 1 August and close on 24 September 2025. Click here to see more info about key dates for accommodation applications.

Deferral for Offer Holders 

If your students have an offer for the February intake but would like to defer this to the next available intake, please advise them to log into their myUC student account and click the deferral request button. Offer holders are sent instructions on how to create their myUC login and can defer, accept, or withdraw the offer via myUC. Please do not submit a new application for the July intake if the student simply wants to defer.

If you receive an email that more information is required as part of the application processing, please submit the missing or additional information within the timeframe given to avoid the automatic withdrawal. If not provided in time, the application will automatically be withdrawn and you will need to submit a new application to be assessed again.

Important: please do not submit multiple applications for the same student as this will significantly delay the assessment process. The first application must be withdrawn before submitting another one. Incomplete applications without all required documents will also delay the assessment process.
