We hope you are doing well. We are writing to keep you informed of some key dates and exciting opportunities for the upcoming academic year. Please take note of the following important updates:

We are thrilled to share with you the winners of the 2024 Student Awards at UniSQ, which saw our international student cohort very well represented, including the All Round Excellence Award winner featured below. Thank you for your support in recruiting these high quality calibre applicants to UniSQ, who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in leadership, community service, student clubs, and sport.

This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our international students, and it can be a powerful story to share with prospective applicants as they consider their future at UniSQ. 

The Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024 Parliamentary debate attracted considerable media attention this week. While the future of the proposals remains unclear, we would like to reassure you that the University of Southern Queensland appreciates the many positive contributions international students make to our University and local communities, and we look forward to working with you in the recruitment and admission of students into our 2025 study periods.

UniSQ is proud to offer the Incoming Study Abroad International Travel Grant for students planning to study at our institution in 2025. The University of Southern Queensland will offer grants to non-award international students commencing or continuing their enrolment in the Study Abroad program, in Trimester 1, Trimester 2 or Trimester 3 2025.

• Each grant will have a maximum value of AUD 2000 per trimester in accordance with the duration of the award, credited directly to the recipient's UniSQ student account as a reduction to their tuition fees.

If you have students interested in applying, please refer them to the official scholarship page for full details including eligibility and selection criteria.

We would like to remind you of the upcoming deadlines for Trimester 1 (2025):

• Last date to apply: 2 December 2024
• Last date to accept offers: 16 December 2024
• Trimester 1 starts: 10 February 2025, with Orientation week occurring prior (3 February 2025).

Encourage your students to meet these deadlines to ensure their applications and acceptances are processed on time. Accepting offers promptly also helps students meet visa requirements and arrive in time for the start of the trimester.

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to inform you about the University of Southern Queensland's closure during the holiday period. Our offices will be closed from 25 December 2024 until 1 January 2025 and we will be unavailable for normal business operations during this time. Please ensure that all communications or administrative requests are made before this period to allow time for processing. We are excited to work with you as we approach the new year.
