To avoid any delays caused by visa processing, we encourage applicants to accept their offer and pay their deposit fees as soon as possible.
All students are expected to arrive in Australia with sufficient time to commence their studies from the beginning of Week 1. We highly recommend students arrive early to settle into accommodation and attend Orientation Week.
We are aware that some students may face visa delays beyond their control. International students impacted by visa delays will be permitted to delay the commencement of their studies up to Friday 7 March 2025, provided they have completed their course enrolment and have arrived on campus ready to attend classes by this date. Any students commencing their studies late will be responsible for contacting their Faculty to ensure that they enrol in the appropriate courses. The name of the appropriate Faculty can be found on the offer letter. Students will not be able to seek extensions for assessments based on their late arrival. Once enrolled, it is the students' responsibility to contact their course coordinators and arrange to catch up on any work that they have missed.
International students seeking to commence after 7 March 2025 are required to submit their request via email (iaslatearrivals@uq.edu.au). Approval is on a case-by-case basis.
