Trimester 2 May intake - key dates

With the application date for our upcoming May intake fast approaching, please be aware of the following important dates. It is important that students complete the acceptance process on time to avoid missing their opportunity to commence studies. Meeting these deadlines ensures that visa processing and enrolment steps can be completed smoothly.

Last date to apply: March 17
Last day to accept offer: March 31
Last day to accept (onshore): May 19

These timelines align with Department of Home Affairs advice on processing times. Students who do not accept their offers by these deadlines may face delays in securing their Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), which can impact visa processing times. To avoid complications, we encourage students to complete their acceptance process as early as possible. Immigration Policy updates

The replacement of Ministerial Director 107 by Ministerial Direction No.111 (MD111) has been welcomed by the sector. MD111, effective December 2024, outlines the prioritisation framework for processing offshore Student visa (Subclass 500) applications. This directive introduces a more equitable approach to visa processing. The introduction of MD111 has led to significant improvements in visa processing times and better overall outcomes for students. This has helped provide more certainty and stability, making the application process smoother for our students and agents. We appreciate your efforts in supporting students through these changes and look forward to working together for continued success. While MD111 speeds up processing for high-priority applications, it still requires applicants to submit complete and accurate documentation to avoid delay

Optimising Visa Processing: Check Twice, Submit Once

To ensure faster processing and better outcomes for student visa applications, it’s essential to follow the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) guidelines carefully. Here’s how you can help streamline the process:

Use the Student Visa Document Checklist Tool – Ensure all required documents are complete before submission to avoid delays. Check your personalised checklist here.
Complete Applications with all required information can be processed without unnecessary follow-ups. Incomplete submissions, especially missing health assessments, can cause delays.
Regularly check for any additional information requests from DHA and respond promptly to keep the application moving. Stay updated on processing times and requirements here.
